Real Madrid was crowned the King of Spain Football Cup, yesterday, Saturday, after defeating its counterpart, Osasuna, with two goals to one, in a final hosted by the “La Cartuja” stadium in Seville.
Real Madrid advanced early with a goal scored by Brazilian Rodrigo Goes less than two minutes after the start of the match, taking advantage of a distinguished individual work from his compatriot Vinicius Juniors, who penetrated and dribbled, then passed to Rodrigo, who put the ball into the net.
The surprising goal put Osasuna’s elements in a state of lack of focus, and made Real impose its offensive control through dangerous attempts, most notably David Alaba’s ball, which was returned by the crossbar in the 32nd minute, and a shot from Karim Benzema and another from Federico Valverde.
In the second half, Osasuna appeared better and began to take the advantage until he managed to equalize through Lucas Toro, who aimed a powerful ball that settled to the left of the Belgian Thibaut Courtois in the 58th minute.
The game calmed down a little after the balance of the two shoulders, but Vinicius Juniors launched a quick attack that ended with a second goal for the “Royal” team, which also bore Rodrigo’s signature in the 70th minute.
Minutes passed without anything new before the final whistle blew, announcing Real Madrid’s victory and winning the King’s Cup for the 20th time in its history, the last of which was the 2013-2014 season.
