An informed source told Reuters that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is on his way to attend the Arab summit in Saudi Arabia.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information, said Zelensky would attend the Arab League summit later on Friday.
The source added that it is an opportunity for the Ukrainian leader to put pressure on allies and countries that still take a neutral position in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
The source told Reuters that Zelensky will then travel to the G7 meeting in Hiroshima, Japan, on a French government plane.
The head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, is the only one among the Arab leaders who declared his support for the Russian military operation in Ukraine, saying that “Russia today is not only defending itself, but also the world and the principles of justice and humanity.”
