Sources from the Syrian community in Sudan revealed that the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs approved the request of the Damascus embassies in Cairo and Khartoum, to allow Syrians coming from Sudan to enter Egyptian territory, according to conditions.
The loyal “Athar Press” website said that the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stipulated the presence of lists prepared in advance by the Syrian embassy in Khartoum, in order for approval to be granted to the names included in the lists and on their responsibility.
The website confirmed that the embassy requested copies of the passports to evacuate them, but they said that some do not have the passports, because they were handed over to the embassy, or to the Sudanese universities to renew the residencies, and they were unable to retrieve them, demanding a solution to their situation.
Eleven Syrian refugees were killed as a result of the clashes that erupted in Sudan, a few days ago, following the escalation of tensions between the army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the leader of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, nicknamed “Hemedti”.
The affiliated Athar Press website quoted sources from the Syrian community in Sudan as saying that 11 people have died since the start of the fighting, amid the absence of any official move to evacuate about 30,000 Syrians residing on Sudanese territory.
