The deteriorating living conditions and high prices are reflected in the preparations of the Christian community in the city of Aleppo to celebrate Easter, amid the absence of manifestations of joy and joy among the people, and efforts to provide aid to the needy.
Athar Press, the loyal website, quoted a woman as saying that this holiday will be limited to prayers and masses, and praying that God will release the people, for what they are suffering as a result of the high prices and their inability to celebrate as they wish.
Another woman said that preparations for Easter are at their lowest levels and are limited to coloring a few eggs, which is a festive ritual on Easter, and it will only be for children to bring joy to their souls, as it is difficult to color a large number due to the high prices of eggs.
In turn, the spiritual head of the Arab Evangelical Church in Aleppo, Rev. Ibrahim Naseer, explained that the aid continues during the feast according to the capabilities, pointing to the distribution of approximately 500 food and health baskets, and the preparation of more than 100 food aid coupons in addition to clothing coupons.
Naseer pointed out that the celebration of Easter “is an affirmation that the policy of life is victorious, and that any policy that aims to kill and destroy is a defeated policy.”
