The Commissioner for Integration in the German state of Thuringia, Miriam Krupa, revealed that Syrian refugees still have a chance to reunite with their family members in the country.
According to Krupa, this opportunity came after the approval of the Ministry of Interior to extend the program to accept the recruitment of Syrians for their relatives and family members through sponsorship until 2024, according to conditions.
The German official indicated that the Syrians in Germany cannot properly focus on their new tasks, such as learning the language, training, and work, while they continue to worry about their loved ones in Syria.
She explained in her speech that: “The situation in Syria is still tragic, with the continuation of armed conflicts, the collapse of the economy and the spread of hunger, which makes life impossible in large parts of the country,” according to the German News Agency.
The German authorities allow the families of refugees and their relatives, even of the second degree, to be brought in, provided that their expenses are covered for a period of five years, provided that the applicant has temporary or permanent residency in Germany.
