The ‘Syrian Center for Justice and Accountability’ based in the United States suggested that the next U.S. administration would be tough on Iran and its allies, including the Syrian regime, if the Republican candidate Donald Trump wins the presidential elections.
The center’s director, Mohammad Al-Abdallah, expected that Trump, if he wins, would resort to issuing executive orders regarding Syria without the need to resort to laws passing through Congress.
Al-Abdallah pointed out in a speech, “If the Democrats remain in the White House, it means the continuation of the same policy that current President Joe Biden followed regarding the Syrian file, with some tightening on Iran as evident from the statements of Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, and thus imposing some pressures on Damascus, according to ‘Al-Araby Al-Jadeed”.
He went on to say, “But this depends on the next president’s team, not the president himself, naturally from either team.”
