A few days ago, Turkish authorities arrested three “Gendarme” border guards in Hatay province for their involvement in torturing and killing Syrians trying to enter the country.
According to bianet’s news, the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Hatay’s Reyhanlı district launched an investigation against the border guards who attacked Syrians on murder charges.
According to the news of the newspaper, which stated that after the statements of the police officers were taken, the 3 police officers who gave their statements were released on condition that they be subject to judicial control, the authorities arrested 3 people, including 1 first lieutenant and 2 lieutenants.
An officer from the border station confirmed that he personally heard the voices of the Syrians who were put in a vehicle and taken to the police station and beaten there.
It is worth noting that on March 11, 8 Syrians were subjected to severe torture by the Turkish border guards while trying to enter the country, two of them died, and the others were sent to hospitals in the countryside of Idlib for treatment.
