The Syrian Network for Human Rights confirmed that 96 civilians were killed in Syria last March, including 15 children and 6 women, and 7 victims of torture.
The network said that its report relied on continuous monitoring of incidents and news, and on an extensive network of relationships with dozens of various sources, in addition to analyzing a large number of photos and video clips.
The report notes that “96 civilians, including 15 children and 6 women (adult female), were killed by the parties to the conflict and the controlling forces in Syria in March 2023, of whom the Syrian regime killed 5 civilians, while the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) killed 5 civilians, including 3 children, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham killed 3 civilians, and all armed opposition factions killed 4 civilians, including a child.
The report indicated that 4 massacres took place, and 1 civil defense cadre was killed at the hands of other parties.
Data analysis showed that Deir ez-Zor province topped the rest of the provinces with 32 percent of the death toll documented in March, most of whom were killed by other parties, followed by Hama province with about 27 percent, then Aleppo province with 12 percent of the death toll in March.
