The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that the US military conducted an operation in northwest Syria yesterday, resulting in the killing of the leading ISIS leader, Khaled al-Juburi.
Centcom said in a statement that Al-Juburi was responsible for planning the organization’s attacks in Europe and developed its leadership structure, emphasizing that no civilians were killed or injured during the operation.
Syrian Civil Defense teams rescued the person and took him to Bab Al-Hawa Hospital, where he died.
Prior to the targeting operation, an intense flight of reconnaissance planes over the northern Idlib countryside and border areas with Turkey took place.
Activists stated that the name of the targeted person, Abdullah Al-Khalif, came from the Deir ez-Zor Governorate and arrived in the region about 10 days ago.
According to military observatories, the missile remains in the targeted area indicate that the missile used in the attack was of the American-made Hellfire type.
International coalition forces regularly carry out attacks using drones targeting the leaders of jihadist organizations listed as terrorist organizations such as ISIS and al-Qaeda.
