Sugar prices fluctuated from one shop to another in Damascus, ranging from eight to a thousand per kilo.
Nidal Maqsoud, Price Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, stated that the amount of sugar in the market decreased gradually and coincided with the increase in its price, and stated that the quantities were small and there was weakness in imports. to the global rise of matter.
In Northern and Eastern Syria regions, the Trade Directorate within the Economic Commission announced the names of traders authorized to distribute sugar to avoid the sugar loss crisis.
The “Hawar” agency, which is close to the Kurdish “Kasd” forces, confirmed that northern and eastern Syria had been suffering from sugar shortages for months, with many traders monopolized. Hundreds of people pour in front of the Newroz Foundation every day to obtain small quantities of substance.
