A Tunisian inventor was able to develop a smart shoe that converts the energy of walking into an electric current that charges electronic equipment, in an effort to find a renewable and clean source of energy.
According to Tunisian media, 22-year-old Rayan Al-Mannai succeeded in designing a smart shoe that converts kinetic energy into electrical energy that allows charging mobile phones, smart watches, digital panels and headphones.
Ryan said that the smart shoe is made of leather, and is intended for daily use and produces energy whenever the wearer moves, as it contains components in the soles of the shoe distributed under the entire foot.
He added that these components are transformed from mechanical energy to electronic energy, as they are linked to a battery concentrated in the heel of the shoe to store the energy produced from movement, and it is also connected to the charging port located in the heel of the shoe, indicating that the idea of designing the shoe came from his desire to urge employees with low mobility to Walking and moving more than possible in order to achieve their goals and provide energy to charge devices, as well as reduce people’s consumption of normal energy, as all shoes can generate alternative energy through body movement.
It is noteworthy that Ryan won the first prize in the “High Heels Creativity 2022” competition, and continues his specialized education in the field of fashion and shoe design.
