With the issuance of the final statement of the Amman meeting, which brought together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, in addition to the foreign minister of the Assad regime, the conviction is strengthened among many who had some doubts about the feasibility of the Arab apostasy towards Assad, or who had guesses suggesting that this Arab turn was not a plan. The process of restoring al-Assad to the Arab bosom, as much as it was the return of some Arab rulers to al-Assad, is not due to the disappearance of the reasons that called for the Arab League to boycott al-Assad, but rather for many reasons, but the most prominent and most important of all is that al-Assad has triumphed over his people, as he mentioned before the days of Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary General of that miserable League, which has never been at the service of the causes of the Arab peoples.
It is not important for the Arab leaders what repercussions resulted from this victory, for those who were killed and their number exceeds one million Syrian citizens, may God have mercy on them and they will not return, and those who were displaced or displaced, and their number is estimated at thirteen million citizens, may God bless them, as His mercy extended to the heavens and the earth, but most of all According to the Arab rulers, it is the Arabism of Syria, its national identity, and the sovereignty of the Syrian state, because all the values of Arabism and sovereignty are reduced to Bashar al-Assad in his person, and concern for his safety and the continuity of his regime is concern for the country’s national identity. A curse that reaps our souls and the future of our future generations?
In any case, what was included in the final statement of the Amman meeting confirms the overall expectations, the precursors of which began in the first days following the February 6 earthquake, and then these precursors turned into ideas and practical endeavors with the Saudi-Iranian reconciliation, when it seemed at that time that the Assad regime was a card to weigh Iran’s demands are most important, and thus the Arab demands to remove Assad from the Iranian bosom have turned into its opposite, as the Assad regime has become the Arabs’ gateway to Iran, but this fact may be shocking to the feelings, at least to the feelings of the peoples of the Gulf whose ears were cracked over decades of Talking about the Iranian threat and the threat it might pose to the stability of the region. As for the Syrian scene, it is possible to stand very briefly on three issues included in the Amman Declaration: 1- The statement clearly indicates that the procedural mechanisms for restoring relations between Assad and his Arab peers are based on understandings and dialogue between Arab and international parties, as well as through coordination with the international bodies in order to enable the Assad regime to control the entire Syrian geography to achieve the concept of sovereignty first, and then in order to fight the parties. And terrorist groups, as well as to track down and combat the sources of drugs of all kinds, especially Captagon, which is now flowing from the Syrian country to other Arab countries, and certainly this will not be achieved without direct coordination with the Assad regime as the most prominent interlocutor, and this simply means a clear and explicit recognition that Assad is one of the victims Terrorism first, and it also means – and it is most important – that the Assad regime is not the cause of the problem, if not its root and fundamental cause, but rather it is an essential part of the solution, and thus the murderer, the criminal, and the source of all evils in the past, becomes a pioneer in the fight against terrorism and a source of security and stability and immunity to identity Nationalism and country sovereignty.
2- The statement refers in more than one place to the humanitarian repercussions of the Syrian war, perhaps the most prominent of which is the issue of Syrian refugees and the need to secure a safe return for them. In procedural details, the statement indicates the need for the Assad regime to take practical measures of a legal nature, such as issuing amnesty decrees or so on, in exchange for That the Arab countries contribute to securing the needs required by the return of the refugees, such as infrastructure, rebuilding the services and education sector, and so on, and perhaps this means that Assad is completely innocent of the burden of displacing and displacing the Syrians, but rather they may have been displaced because of their disobedience to Syria’s sovereignty and Arabism, or because they are terrorists according to Assad, and when the ruler pardons them, he will have taken a step in which there is a lot of gratitude, and may even be an honor that he may have bestowed upon those who fled with their lives from the bombing of his barrels and chemical weapons, and he has the right at that time to be rewarded for his step by a step on the part of the Arabs, and it will only be more. Among the funds that Faisal al-Miqdad did not hide his demand for when he clearly stated that the Syrian government is unable alone to bear the burdens necessitated by the return of the refugees.
3- There is a shy pause in the statement regarding the issue of detainees, the disappeared, and the abducted. Perhaps the parties to the Amman meeting were keen not to provoke Assad’s feelings by talking about the presence of “135,000 male and female detainees: in the regime’s prisons, according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, so I chose to talk about the detainees recently.” years, without referring to the responsibility of a specific party. Rather, the statement demanded that all the conflicting parties in Syria exchange prisoners and abductees, and thus the Assad regime becomes like any other party that has arrested a number of Syrians, and its responsibility is equal to that of all the de facto authorities in Syria, and therefore everything that is documented Cases of arrests, and all documented massacres, such as the Solidarity massacre and others, show that it is a pure slander against the Assad regime.
Perhaps al-Assad’s reconciliation and re-floating him on the Arab and regional levels, in isolation from his conflict with his people, is a source of great disappointment to the cause of the Syrians, but it will not be more disappointing and painful than acquitting him and rewarding him for his crime, not only against the Syrians, but against all humanity.
