The regions of northern Syria witnessed heavy rains, yesterday evening, Friday, which led to the formation of strong torrential rains, which caused damage to a number of camps for the displaced and those affected by the earthquake.
The Syrian Civil Defense “White Helmets” said that its teams began responding to distress calls to help the people, and opened channels to drain rainwater, after the torrential rains damaged a number of camps in the northern countryside of Aleppo, including camps to shelter the victims of the earthquake.
A video clip, posted on the Civil Defense’s Facebook account, showed the formation of torrents after heavy rains in the town of Sheikh Hadid in the countryside of Afrin, northern Syria.
The Civil Defense warned of an increase in traffic accidents and slipping on the roads due to rain, and urged drivers to drive with caution, check the technical condition of vehicles such as windshield wipers, brakes, tires and lights, reduce speed gradually on turns, and not use mobile phones while driving.
The turbulent weather conditions led to a collision of two cars on the Termanin-Daret Izza road, west of Aleppo, which did not result in any human casualties.
Northwestern regions of Syria are witnessing a thunderstorm, accompanied by heavy rains and hail, which is expected to spread to the rest of the regions on Saturday and Sunday, especially the island and the central region, with a drop in temperatures, according to the meteorologists.
