Northwest Syrian regions and the Deraa countryside witnessed mass public demonstrations to commemorate the Syrian revolution in its 12th year and to emphasize its continuation.
Thousands of Syrians from different regions commemorated the twelfth anniversary of the Syrian revolution in the center of Idlib in a large central demonstration.
In the demonstration attended by Syrians from various regions, the flag of the Syrian revolution was hoisted on the highest pole in the city of Idlib.
The demonstrators expressed their rejection of “attempts by some countries to normalize and reestablish relations with the Syrian regime” and called for the regime to be overthrown and held accountable for crimes committed 12 years before the revolution.
The central demonstration, attended by a large percentage of the displaced from various parts of Syria, also called for the “right of return” to the cities and villages abandoned by the Syrian regime in its 12-year war against the Syrians.
Dozens of people from Deraa al-Balat gathered in one of the squares and demanded the release of the prisoners in the prisons of the Syrian regime, chanting slogans such as “Long live Syria and Bashar Assad overthrow” and “We are with us”. May our souls and blood be sacrificed to you, O martyr.”
The demonstrators carried banners that read: “No concessions from the constants”, “The failure of the world has illuminated the way for the Syrians to achieve their goals” and “The righteous martyrs who remain true to their covenant and oath, free prisoners”.
