French media confirmed that Didier Deschamps, the coach of the first football team, invited Real Madrid star Karim Benzema to the national team camp.
According to the French “Telefoot” network, Deschamps has invited Karim Benzema, as well as goalkeepers Hugo Lloris and Steve Mandanda, to France’s game against the Netherlands next Friday to honor defender Raphael Varane and forward Blaise Matuidi.
The French channel announced that it would not accept Benzema’s invitation to participate in the match due to his strained relationship with Deschamps.
Relations between the two sides were strained at the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar, as Benzema did not participate in the qualifying rounds with his country’s national team on the pretext that he was not ready.
Deschamps, in his press release a few days ago, said that Karim Benzema left the France camp at the 2022 Qatar World Cup with his personal desire after his injury.
Benzema denied these allegations by posting satirical posts from Deschamps on his official social media accounts.
