European Union’s Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janiz Lenarcic, revealed that the current crisis regarding the financial situation and inflation in Lebanon is not caused by Syrian refugees.
Lenarcic pointed out that the European Union provides humanitarian aid to people who need it most, regardless of their status or nationality.
The European official stated that the European Union will continue to support Syrian refugees as well as Lebanese in need, as it has done for 12 years, and pointed out that the number of refugees in need of help is high due to current conditions and inflation. and the significant decline in the value of salaries, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
“Aid is provided to everyone in need, including Syrian refugees and Lebanese citizens, by supporting programs and projects.”
