Four Syrian refugees in the Netherlands were named the country’s “Best Newcomer” for 2023.
The winner of the “Star” category, Syrian refugee Tisar Iskar (48 years old), who works as an English teacher and volunteer translator at the Refugee Agency, also wrote a book about her life called “The Golden”. Wounds of My Heart.”
In the technology category, Syrian Mohab Al-Katema, who works as an information technology engineer at ABN Amro Bank, came in first.
Zeina Abboud, who won the Best Beginner Award in the “Entrepreneurship” category, provides catering services to companies and events as well as cooking workshops.
According to the website “Syria TV”, Syrian refugee Islam Rishi, who founded a successful food preparation company called “Areej Cuisine”, also won.
