Today, Monday, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the reopening of the Iranian and Saudi embassies in Riyadh and Tehran will take place before May 9.
Ali Reza Enayati, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director of the Gulf States Affairs Department at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the foreign ministers, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, and the Saudi minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, will meet during this period.
Enayati said, “The embassies of the two countries are scheduled to reopen within two months of reaching the Iranian-Saudi agreement, and the Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers will meet during this period,” according to what was reported by the official Iranian news agency, “IRNA.”
He added, “The Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers met in Beijing, and since that date, the official declaration of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia began, and after that the Iranian and Saudi technical delegations met.”
It should be noted that the Saudi side has not yet issued any statement regarding the date of opening the embassy in Tehran.
