On the sidelines of the recent Munich Forum, in late February, the Russian political analyst, Alexander Vucic, spoke about the biggest horror behind the doors, which is represented in the possibilities of the development of the armed conflict in Ukraine, into a third world war.
Does Mr. Vucic transcend the immediate scene with its truly frightening proportions, or does he describe the geopolitical situation of an international scene that is liable to explode, overnight?
A few days ago, the Russian Information Agency quoted a magazine affiliated with the Russian army as saying that Moscow is developing a new type of military strategy that uses nuclear weapons to protect the country from possible US aggression.
The article, which was published in the magazine “Voynaya Mysl” or “Military Thought”, concluded that Washington is worried about losing its hegemony over the world, and therefore it “apparently” prepared plans to strike Russia to neutralize it.
Is Moscow sincere in what it claims, or is it obsessions and suspicions that haunt it, and push it to enter through the thresholds of the nuclear gate, which has one fatal path for planting and udder?
It can be definite that Washington, as demonstrated by President Biden’s visit to Ukraine, is determined to support Ukraine and not allow Russia to win, whatever the cost.
In this context, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, was the most clear, because despite his fears that the scene would lead to a global nuclear conflict, this did not prevent him from acknowledging that the defeat of Ukraine is something he will not allow, because its meaning and structure will open the door to The Russians to expand westward, which puts Europe in radical dangers.
The advanced visions almost lead the reader to one conclusion, which is the inevitability of a wide and prolonged conflict, especially in light of the facts related to the decline of American hegemony, and perhaps the end of the era of what the American ruling elite had seen a few decades ago, from the neoconservatives, “Paxa Americana” on the weight of “Paxa Romana”. , during the time of the Roman Empire.
It is no secret that Russian experts have recently been developing a promising form of strategic use of the Russian armed forces, which requires the use of modern offensive and defensive strategic weapons, as well as nuclear and non-nuclear weapons, taking into account the latest military technologies.
The talk of the Russian magazine “Military Thought” does not seem far from President Putin’s orientations. Those who followed him during his recent meeting with the Federal Security Command realized that there is a very close language, especially in light of his talk about the need to use what he called all the necessary means necessary to respond to the threats that represent a threat to Russian national security.
What is certain is that Tsar Putin’s last words cannot be separated from previous flashpoints, with which he stopped more than once, and which caused great dismay in the international community, as he considered that the Russian nuclear doctrine, which was not in its plans before, carrying out the first strike, must have To change, so that Russia does not wait for the enemies’ nuclear missiles, but rather takes the initiative, in order to have the upper hand in the nuclear scene in the event of a conflict.
From here, a large number of senior Russian military officials argue that Moscow must show the Americans their shortcomings in crippling the Russian nuclear missile system, and that Washington will not be able to block a retaliatory strike.
Some American voices, such as a member of the House of Representatives, Tulsi Gabbard, who recently left the Democratic Party, almost believe that Washington is indeed seeking to ignite a global nuclear war, and that the American support that exceeded $100 billion to Ukraine means one thing, which is that Washington is seeking To bring the world into a confrontation that will not cease to turn into a conflict that carries the harbingers of the end for humanity, if nuclear weapons are used.
The Russians are quickly interpreting their theories about the nuclear confrontation, in light of the American insistence on confrontation and victory in the battle of Ukraine, even if by proxy.
One of the signs of the Russian translation is Putin’s desire to undermine the foundations of nuclear arms control, including the major powers’ cessation of nuclear tests, unless the West backs down from its intervention in Ukraine.
The matter did not stop there. In his speech on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the master of the Kremlin stated that Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles will be deployed this year. These missiles were supposed to be deployed last year.
Subsequent to this came Putin’s assurances that Russia will continue mass production of Kinjal hypersonic systems, and will start producing large quantities of Zircon hypersonic missiles launched from the sea.
It seems very clear that the Russians will not wait for NATO to advance on the ground in Ukraine, and that is why the fields of conflict are expanding day by day, the most recent of which was perhaps the deployment of the Northern Fleet for the first time in 30 years, carrying tactical nuclear weapons, according to intelligence reports.
Currently, the Northern Fleet includes about two-thirds of Russia’s nuclear-powered naval ships. In 2017, the Russian Northern Fleet became the main headquarters of electronic warfare systems in Samarkand, and since 2018, the same fleet began conducting regular air patrols of the Arctic with long-range anti-submarine aircraft.
The tasks of this fleet are to defend the Arctic seas along Russia’s northern borders in the Barents Sea and the Kara Sea, and the northwestern sea routes in the Norwegian Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Russians well read the strategy of the American century for the neoconservatives, whose lines were drawn in 1997, and later translated during the time of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, in the form of a policy of “turning towards Asia”, and then besieging it to the fullest extent and extent.
Today, NATO is concerned about the deployment of Russia’s nuclear Northern Fleet, despite Western circles minimizing Putin’s repeated threats to use nuclear weapons in the ongoing conflict with the West over Ukrainian territory.
Events are accelerating like a snowball, and with the Western insistence on escalation, and Ukraine’s impetus with new offensive weapons, capable of changing the balance of military attention.
