According to the Turkish security sources, AA correspondent, “Hamza Kobani was responsible for the financial affairs of the PKK and the People’s Protection Units – YPG in Aleppo and the Tel Rifat region in the northern countryside.”
The sources said, “The Turkish intelligence operation targeting Muhammad Yıldırım (Hamza Kobani) took place in the Sheikh Maksud region of Aleppo.
According to sources, Yıldırım, who joined the ranks of the PKK in 1986 and is one of the oldest members of the organization, “moved to Syria in 2015 after participating in terrorist acts in Turkey and Iraq”.
