On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree approving the National Security and Defense Council’s proposal to impose sanctions on 141 legal entities and 300 individuals from the Assad regime.
The sanctions include Syrian regime president Bashar al-Assad, prime minister Hussein Arnous and Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad.
The decree provided for penalties for a period of 10 years, including freezing assets, restricting business activities and suspending economic and financial obligations, according to the “Kiev Independent” website.
It is worth noting that the Assad regime sent its army and loyal militia to fight alongside the Russian army in Ukraine last year.
