One civilian was killed and others injured when Syrian regime forces targeted the city of Atarib in the western countryside of Aleppo with artillery shells and rocket launchers.
Regime forces deployed in the “46th Regiment” targeted the outskirts of the city of Atarib with a large number of artillery and missile shells, killing a youth and injuring many civilians.
Syrian Civil Defense “White Helmets” teams, including a child and a woman among the injured, went to the target area and transferred the wounded to the surrounding hospitals.
The city of Atarib is considered one of the areas affected by the earthquake that struck northwest Syria and southern Turkey at dawn on February 6, and ranks second after Cenderes in terms of damage caused by the earthquake in the Aleppo countryside.
According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, 234 people died as a result of the earthquake in the city of Atarib, out of 1,237 people documented in the opposition-controlled areas of the Aleppo countryside. It is worth noting that the disaster caused by the earthquake in northwest Syria did not deter the Syrian regime and did not prevent the bombing of the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo.
