The Syrian Network for Human Rights has documented that more than 230,224 civilians have been killed in Syria since March 2011, most of them by the Syrian regime and Russian forces, including 30,007 children and 16,319 women (adult women).
Among the victims, 15,272 died under torture, while more than 5,000 children are still detained or forcibly disappeared by regime forces, and approximately 14 million Syrians were displaced from March 2011 to March 2023.
In a report released to mark the 12th anniversary of the Syrian revolution, the network said: 201,055 civilians, including 22,981 Syrian children and 11,976 women, were killed by the regime army, while Russian forces killed 6,950, including 2,048 children and 977 women.
According to the report, which draws attention to the fact that “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” killed 517 people and the Turkistan Islamic Party killed 4 civilians, all armed opposition groups / National Army killed 4 thousand 206 people.
The Syrian Democratic Forces states that “Qasd” killed 1,420 people, and the report states that 3,051 people were killed by the International Coalition Forces. And 7967 in the hands of other parties.
The report also presented a cumulative indicator of the death toll and the distribution of the toll over the past 12 years. Data analysis showed that 91 percent of the victims were killed by Syrian regime forces and their allies, with approximately 56 deaths. % of victims were killed in the second and third years of the outbreak of the movement Al-Shaabi (March 2012 to March 2014). It is noteworthy that approximately 52% of the civilian casualties were killed in the provinces of Damascus, Aleppo and Homs.
